Dr. Orkun Hasekioglu
Director of the Institute
Dr. Orkun Hasekioğlu holds BS, MS (Caltech) and PhD (RPI) degrees in Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering, specializing in signal processing, communication systems and networks.
Prior to joining TÜBİTAK, Dr. Hasekioğlu was in academia at Caltech and RPI, a research engineer at General Electric's R&D Center in Schenectady, NY, Vice President and later President and partner at Moren Communications' CHEMI Inc. product development and AIT Inc.
Dr. Hasekioğlu joined Turkish Technic as CIO, responsible for developing and implementing effective and innovative Aircraft MRO IT Technologies for efficient maintenance operations.
Hasekioğlu has served as Vice President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). He currently serves as an advisor to the President of TUBITAK and Director of the Basic Sciences Research Institute.
Orkun Hasekioğlu is married with two children and speaks English fluently.
