The TÜBİTAK Research Institute of Fundamental Sciences (TBAE) will organize the “Wireless Communications and Beyond 5G (TBAE WCB-5G)” Winter School, to be held between 13-17 February 2026. The winter school will focus on future radio access technologies. Starting with the background on 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and its evolution (LTE-advanced and LTE-advanced PRO), 5G new Radio and Beyond 5G will be discussed in detail. Even though focus of the course will be on Radio Access Technologies (RAT), the basics of the core network architectures their comparison and wireless communications will also be covered. The school will also feature special talks highlighting the latest research developments in these fields.

Application Requirements:

While the school is open to everyone, M.Sc. & Ph.D. students, and post-doctoral researches in related fields are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority for the face-to-face (F2F) participation.

– Strong background in Electromagnetic Theory.

- F2F application requires academic transcript(s)

– F2F participation is limited

Online participation is available via Zoom.

- No prerequisities needed

Please carefully read application requirements and information on the TBAE WCB-5G Winter School provided below:

1. You may apply for either face-to-face (F2F) or online participation via Zoom.
2. Online participation has no prerequisites; anyone may apply. A Zoom link will be provided to online participants.
3. There is no registration or participation fee for the WCB-5G Winter School.
4. All lectures will be delivered in English.
5. The application deadline is February 1, 2026. Selection results are expected to be announced on February 5–6.
6. F2F participation is limited and will be selected from the pool of applicants.
7. M.Sc. students, Ph.D. students, and post-doctoral researchers in related fields are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority for F2F selection.
8. A reference letter is not mandatory, but F2F applicants who provide one will be given priority.
9. Accommodation support will be provided to all selected F2F participants.
10. Travel support (only bus and train tickets within Turkey) will be provided to selected F2F participants.
11. International F2F applicants are welcome. If selected, they will receive free accommodation; however, international participants must cover their own travel expenses.
12. Only F2F participants will receive a certificate of completion. Please note that an exam may be administered.
13. No certificate will be provided for online participants.
